<jcanto> workmate: 'Django is like a cheap whore: takes some time to understand her, but then it makes lots of stuff for a little spending

As the Berlusconi in me was convinced rather instantly, I decided to give django a shot.
Current projectname is carniwwwhore, and as I know I suck in this webdev, I'm looking for people who want to participate, so this flower survives the cold season.

I basically just tested how to get things done with django, and from what I can say, jcanto's workmate is correct.
Due to my lack of love towards html and css, it looks ugly, but given the MVC and use of templates, making it look pretty should be easy for somebody who wants a pretty presentation.

Given my obvious anticipation towards html, I spent most of the time on the filters …

Printing the connections recursively was a pita, but it works …

Hey Markus,

So this is the beginning of our front end for reporting? I suck at webdev so won't bother offering on that side of things, but can definitely provide the html and css smarts to make it look pretty, and be somewhat standards compliant too.

:)

Basically, yes, I wanted to see how hard it is, and the hardest thing is getting the django ORM to query the data you want to query, but … I switched to django 1.2.3 in the meantime, so I can use raw queries now.

And I made it to use the postgres database fed via xmpp, as thats the intention anyway. The pg db still lacks some information which would be available on sqlite, and using postgres makes this a pain to setup and distribute, but I guess I'll just provide a dump of my database once I figured out how to get a django project on git, given the settings.py file mixes required settings and -what I consider- confidential values.

But any help is appreciated, so I'll let you know once I got the required bits pushed, so you can step in.

Samples already render, and you can group by timeslot&hash, but I'm looking to get the virustotal data on postgres as well, so there is information per sample, possibly grab xml sandbox reports / pcaps so there is even more data per samples, and include rrd graphs for samples and ports accessed for some shiny pictures.
